I installed, ran and am using Vista Ultimate with the self-extracting installer, not the VPC, without problems.

You even get previews in WPF on Vista as you navigate the Document Outline window and other areas.

Cool stuff.

I don't know why there are other problems, but I am using "Home" mode networking and security.  I did NOTHING else to change the security settings.
