In Canada we have one and two dollar coins calle loonies and toonies. They made the switch and never made paper versions ever again which is exactly what the US mint should do also.
Taking the christian stuff off their money would be sensible too but you know that will never happen in our lifetime.
We shoulda called it the dubloon and put 2 loons on it, instead of calling it a toonie...
