This seems a bit over the top. On a walk down the famed 6th street (which looks like where this occured) on Monday I noticed all the light poles were covered in clear wrap which at first I thought was a Christo copy-cat exhibit. It suddenly
dawned on me, perhaps in anticipation of the music section of SXSW getting started that this was a pro-active way to prevent flyers, etc. from sticking to the poles. At the end of the conference, you run a razor blade down the pole and unwrap the mess. Made
sense to me? I hope they at least allowed the fella to enter the jail with a zune thus providing hours of entertainment.
If this had occurred during the interactive part of the conference it would have only taken 20 minutes of “twitter-time” (my phrase) to raise enough cash to bail him out. After all, it was through the use of twitter streams that one was able to keep up on who/what
company was sponsoring the next round
