Impressive!

Now go home trolls. -
Couldn't because of people liking Vista. You know 'most' people hate Vista. Least thats what the trolls say. They gotta have facts on their side they seem so smart using Mac, Linux and what not.
Mix Bound saturday. Yay!

Trolls don't like it at all when you talk about travel and events, they fear sunlight, fresh air and human contact.
I went to five Tech conferences last month attended by about twenty thousand people and didn't see one laptop running Linux, not one!Linux Trollspeak is the way they justify using a cracked copy of Windows.

No schlep left behind, remember. Thousand points of light. Cloning.

Honestly, unless it's to check e-mail or the talk is a real snoozer, I keep my laptop in my bag during conferences. Nothing beats pen and paper for note taking.
And FYI, I used Linux exclusively at the VS2005 (Boston) launch event. I just wanted to make people looking over my shoulder to do a double take.
Of course, I hardly label myself a troll.
Back on-topic: I'll admit, I bought into the FUD spread by the pundits when they were saying Vista was on life support. That, and my own anecdotal experience of seeing only one laptop on the commuter rail running Vista since the release.
But, the little voice in the back of my head always was screaming that this essentially mirrored the XP release and we'll start seeing Vista replace the XP and 2K machines in the office slowly but surely. Looks like he was right again. -
But which conferences did you go to? How many laptops did you actually see open?eagle wrote:Trolls don't like it at all when you talk about travel and events, they fear sunlight, fresh air and human contact.

I'm always multi-tasking.....
At the first Web 2.0 conference I used my Pocket PC with a Wi-Fi card and even posted on C9 in real-time.
At the second Web 2.0 conference 10/05, I used an early beta of Windows Vista.
I've seen about twenty laptops running Vista in the past few weeks, yesterday on the PATH train I sat next to a guy watching a movie on his watch!

I was on the MBTA commuter rail a few months ago standing over a woman watching "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" on her Nokia phone. It was a very "whoa" momment, as it was something that I'd previously seen done by the more "hard core" technoweenies I know.
But, more power to her!
Me? I just usually fiddle on the Interwebs with my MDA.

You need a TabletPC then
Plus with the free wireless you get at conferences it's cool to chat with the wife on and off, then you don't have to phone

SXSW, BAR Camp Austin, GDC, SD West, VON, SES, PodcampNYC and I saw thousands of laptops. -
I need a Tablet PC for recording videos.
Does anyone know anything about this watch?
I couldn't ask the guy as he had headphones on and was watching a movie.... -

The Boston Convention Center doesn't have free wireless
I'm hesitant to get a tablet PC for myself because I'm afraid the novelty will wear off and I'll have paid extra for a feature I never use. Plus, pen and paper just have a certain "feel" to them. *shrug*
Plus, I have no clue how well Linux supports tablets. (I'm sure there is support, I've just never investigated)

Said the man posting the weekly "My dad is better than your dad" post. -
When the Santa Rosa chipset finds it's way into a Tablet PC along with the Core2Duo we will be able to run x64 Windows Vista with 4gigs of RAM.
All we need is a new gen mobile GPU.... -
That was a very insensitive remark, what if emet was conceived in a test tube?

Every post you've ever made. Hard to be specific.
