Hi,
Can someone explain this?
So why should I use Expression Blend, when Paint.Net was used to make that image? How can you explain this? Should people then trust MS? Was this made using Paint.NET and they are selling it as if it was made in Expression Blend? if it was not, why use Paint.NET?![]()

Speak for yourself.
You're trying to make something of nothing -

Really?

I'd say, with almost 100% certainty, that whoever made the screenshots for the page used Paint.NET to crop the images. Nothing nefarious here...

I hope so, but why use Paint.NET, why not use Expression Blend to do it? Was Expression perhaps not adequate for the job?
Why would MS not use its own products then when it wants to sell them to others?

Probably because MS aren't the ones who built that site. Things like that are usually outsourced to contractors, who use the tools they like and are familiar with.

None of the Expression tools are for editing bitmaps.

I thought MS makes and monitors its own sites. Its kinda irresponsible to give other contractors the job of making a website that is the face of your company.
Its weird really, to see something like this. Now you think twice before you buy something.
Why pay $600 , when Paint.NET would do the same or better job for free?

perhaps you should see DigitalDud's reply, i think you are trying to make an argument out of nothing

Sums it up.

If this is the case, then I am a magician. Wow I can make something out of nothing. Cool!

Use the right tool for the right job. To quickly make simple calculations, Calculator is a better tool to start than Excel. To quickly edit a simple text file, Notepad is a better tool to start than Word. To quickly manipulate a screenshot (crop and save), Paint.NET is a better tool to start than Expression Design.

That says "Hey, I can import raster images in, and even save your 'scene' as raster" not "Hey, I'm also adobe photoshop." -
SecretSoftware, wtf?!
Paint.NET, PS, MS Paint are raster (bitmap) editing software and Expression tools are vector based editing software.
Use right tool for right job - why would a guy go and import bitmap into vector format (XAML) and then execute few basic bitmap-like operation on it - why not do it directly?
Besides the link to the picture in you first post does not work anymore. -
Blend is primarily a compositor, not an image editor.

Emet, that would be entertaining. And surprising. And a bit unrealistic.

Congratulations, the most pointless 'scandal' of the year.
