Getting videos formatted for smaller media devices?

Just wanted to see what others thought of requesting that Channel 9 videos be available in alternate formats/screen res?  There was a poll asking about how many people had what type of devices, which I guess could be related early research into the likely level of user interest....

I for one would love it if I could get these videos to play on my v1240 smartphone.  I tried recently and as the file was so huge (both in pure size and in terms of screen res.) it locked up my device....

Am guessing there could be iPod owners, PSP, smartphone owners who might like the videos available in a more suitable size.  A bit of shrinkage shouldn't affect the message

Nice idea. Maybe in C9v4... I've used VeMODE ( i never remember the proper caps so excuse me if im wrong ) and it scales it okay. If you chop it up into smaller bits it helps I find. would be nice if we didnt have to do that though. if you do do it, dont go all patriotic - put it on palm tooooo!
