I just got done with a new site layout and could use the constructive criticism

Hi all,

I just did a complete revamping of my website and I am hoping some of you would be willing to give it a once over and then criticize it constructively. I would greatly appreciate it. Their is a link on the main page to send me an email so you can make your info as detailed as possible. Just to let you know I am just learning HTML and I figured I would go for a XHTML site due to the fact it is supposed to be more upgradeable and structured.

The background is very distracting, I could not focus on any of the main content on the page as my eyes kept wondering to the background image.

Other than that not bad, very minimalist.

The Google ad hangs over you right container column into the background.

Thanks. I fixed the hang over. Hey do any of you know where I can find a good script for a feedback form.

Hi,
   I'm never keen on fixed width layout -- I paid for a large screen, I want it all used!

The central column of text is pretty narrow, which makes it hard to read anything longer that a half dozen words.

Agreed, muting that would make it a lot easier to read. And maybe the typography might be better suited to not mixing Serif and Sans so closely?

Too much contrast. And fix logo image on top.
