$59.99 for 450 minutes plus unlimited data is the lowest spec (considering I currently pay more than that in the UK with fewer minutes..).
Just for those that aren't fed up with all the coverage yet ![]()

So the iPhone will cost $2000.00 for the phone and a two year commitment.
What will it cost in the cost conscious UK? -
And you get NSA snooping for free! yay!
...and knowing that your pipes are piracy-free is priceless. -

Well let's put it this way, they don't normaly take exchange rates into account (at the moment anything $1 would be 50p if that was the case). If we're lucky we might pay 75p/$ and if we're unlucky they just replace the $ with a £.

Don't we have to wait until they fit it with GSM anyway? By the time we get it they'll be giving it away.

November. Which is why I bought a HTC Touch to keep me going until then

I just read about the activation. On Friday one million people who pre-ordered the iPhone will have to go to a web site and activate their phones. -

So the difference between network protocols slipped past you; or are you just going to go on another of your rants? If so, make it silent there's a good chap.

That is a great deal. If they would sign a partnership with RIMM I would get one.
Edit: All Plans: http://www.apple.com/iphone/easysetup/rateplans.html
You have to watch a video to learn how to activate.:O -
That's the first time I heard that, so that's why you don't know what it will cost.

I've no idea what plans cost in the US, is that good? bad? average?

Not that I'm a fan of the Inq site, but, FWIW: http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=40594

Compared to Verizon's smartphone plans, it's actually pretty good. They charge $79.99 for 450, $109.99 for 1350 and $169.99 for 4000. If you use a lot of minutes, then the Verizon plan will ultimately be cheaper, but that would only really apply to those folks who practically have their phone surgically inserted up their nethers.

I read in the newspaper that Apple's demands from the European cellphone carriers are so unrealistic that they won't sell the iPhone.

Who knows what the speed of the data plan will be?
It's going to depend on the coverage in you location, but AT&T's best my not be nearly as fast as Verizon's -
It's EDGE.

Why is that not different for any provider? Speed will vary depending on what city you are in.

Whereas the Kaiser will support HSDPA and HSUPA
