I thought (for the most part) we were above that sort of thing.
Interactive fiction is for my forté (i.e. Quake, not those "make your own story" books). -

Nah, I've been overdosing on Kathy Reichs books lately so it'll be a welcome relief to read something a little less gruesome. -
What's to discuss until I actually have my copy in my sweaty excited hands?
I don't want to run the risk of accidentally guessing the plot, and thereby spoiling the whole thing. (Dolores Umbridge and Minerva McGonngall get married. Luna Lovegood is Harry's Daughter from the future, and she becomes her own mother, meanwhile Albus Dumbledore is resurrected as a Zombie Wizard by some Voodoo champ who kicks everyone's asses.)
Oh, and who will turn out to be the mysterious bloke who left the not in the not-a-horcrux? -

Strange I find books quite interactive, how your imagination fills in the world the author describes rather than being lead passively as you are in a movie or computer games.I find I enjoy more and more these days any form of entertainment that gets me away for the TV or computer screen.

I made a terrible mistake. I got my credit cards expiration date wrong when I preordered the book. As a result I had to correct the order yesterday and Amazon hasn't shipped it yet. So I can't get it tomorrow.
This means I must either stay offline until I get it or risk spoilers.

Excellent, not alone in my anticipation then!

I've found over the last few book releases, the best place to get the book is Tesco. Found myself poping in a 1am on the way home from the pub and you can just walk in and pick one up!
Then drop of the face of the planet till I've read it
Ten years in the making if anyone spoills the ending for me I may have to kill them
-
No Tesco in Japan yet though, surely?
I know they're taking over the world... But seriously?
I had to correct the bank details on my order... As since ordering the book I've got married and merged bank accounts with my wife.
Went to see the film last night, it was good (not as good as the Azkhaban film, but considerably better than the appaling Goblet of Fire film.) But it still suffered from peculiar editing lick Goblet of Fire. -

Dammit! You've ruined it for all of us. When children ask on christmas day who it was that ruined it, I will point at you and shake my head.

Freaking LOVE Harry Potter BROS.
Being a nerd isn't all about WoW and O'Reilly books.
Nerds can have fun too.
Was going to wait in line tonight (by myself, apparently my friends find me embarressing at times) but I have a test in the morning (finishing my bachelors and trying to test out of some classes for credit)
So, I decided the responsible thing would be to just study tonight and pick up my book tomorrow.
Damn responsibility. -
I preordered from Amazon.co.jp.
Not many places carry non-Japanese books, and I expect it to be sold out quickly in shops that do carry it. Amazon was the safe bet, and it would've worked if I hadn't made that mistake. Now of course I have no choice but to wait since I already paid for it.
It's interesting how Amazon's order history says it's "shipping soon" (i.e. hasn't shipped yet) but still says the delivery estimate is July 21st. I'd be mighty surprised if they manage that.
On a positive note, I finished re-reading the first six books, so I'm ready for it.
-
I started re-reading them a couple of months ago...
Huge mistake, as I finished them six weeks ago. Darn obsessive book reading behaviour. If only I could get so involved in something I was paid to do... -
Yep, I will be picking up my Saturday Times and a copy of Harry tomorrow from my local little Tesco's tomorrow morning.
I suspect I won't read anything more than the front-page of the Times.
Anyway, my wife will soon snap me out of my weekend with Harry ambitions we have rooms to paint! Ug, who would buy a new house. Ug, I hate DIY. Ug, I wish I made more money so I can hire a decorator. Ug, Just stop raining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

\Not a fan of Harry.
\\Have a phobia of wizards
\\Have a bigger phobia of naked wizards with horses

That's not the real surprise, the real surprise is that Voldemort NEVER EXISTED AT ALL. Instead the entire wizarding community have been held under hypnosis by Tony Blair, and kept factionalised to prevent them trying to take over the UK. -

Couldn't find the time to actual re-read the books at the momennt, but have been listing to the audio books (the Stephen Fry version of course!) and am on the final few chapters of book 6, should finish just in time!

If it ends with someone stepping out of the shower I'll be most upset
