The August 2007 issue of Wired magazine includes an article by Steve Silberman entitled: Where is Jim Gray?

The article provides a behind the scenes view of the search for Microsoft researcher Jim Gray and his sailboat the Tenacious missing since last January. 

    "...Gray was one of the best and brightest in a generation of problem-solvers, and also one of the most humble. When conference hosts tried to introduce him as a database guru or god, he would say gently, "I'm just a programmer."... "
