Oh come on. I'm hardly dumb, I just want ultimate control over my computer. I want to access whatever I want, whenever I want. I didn't have UAC in XP, never seemed to make a difference. Everything else is up and running, AVG is fine,
etc. Fine, UAC could prevent them from getting in itfp, but it's not like I'm going to download a virus, I hardly ever download anything now that I'm happy with my system.
Then turn UAC back on.
I see UAC only when doing adminstrative level tasks, and programs that think they need admin permissions that don't are defective.
By turning off UAC you are encouraging developers to write bad code as well as opening up your computer to all sorts of nasties that might appear on your computer, say by infected JPEGs in IE, a hacked program on your system or a badly coded and therefore hackable
program that you rely on for internet access.
