I asked Mini if he comes to C9 or Coffeehouse and what he thought of it. His replies below:
- Do you ever go to channel 9
Yes. Not as much as I used to. I used to visit it quite often when it was new and then again based on interesting things I'd find via search engine queries.
During the height of my C9 usage, I was never a power user / participant. I have to admit, I'm a little frustrated with the user interface, but that's based on me wanting to have a more "drop in and see what's going on, act / re-act" usage pattern vs. what
it was designed for.
- If you do - do you go to the Coffeehouse?
I used to check-in to see what was new from time to time. Now I only visit the Coffeehouse if some interesting search I run points me to it.
- Do you like Channel9/Coffeehouse?
Yes, from the times that I've been there. I really sort of bounce around and don't get too deep into everything that's going on in the coffeehouse. There have only been a few threads that I've tracked after an initial reading.
- What future do you see for Channel9 / coffeehouse?
Well, there's the future that's likely and the future I'd like to see. What's likely is that it puts along doing what it's currently doing. Videos, discussion, some level of engagement.
I feel there's great potential and I'd be interested in knowing about discussions the C9'ers have had about improving C9 and how that feedback has been received; e.g., within the fun noise of day to day conversation, I'm sure some gems of information or interaction
happen. Useful stuff. How does that stuff get elevated up, whether by digging or tagging or such?
I'd love to have a "Best of C9" view where the most interesting and useful threads (and video / commentary) could be enjoyed.
I'd also like to see a more virtuous loop between the C9 staff and C9 users. Could C9 become more adaptable?
Just to let you know my internal view of C9: it's the place where Microsofties go to see videos about stuff even they don't know about or interesting interviews of people and legends we've heard of but don't know. Sometime (most of the time) the stuff you're
seeing is news to us, too. It's also the place some of us go to support our product and answers technical questions. That part is awkward, for some reason.
I hope C9 continues for a good long time.
Cheers,
M.
