Germany cracks down on copying
Cool law... Look.
You can lie on TV, provide fake news and bs people.
Nobody can prove what you're lying because you can't record "news"!
Cool!
EU is worse than USSR was! This world is sick...

So apart from EU-bashing is there any content to your post?
-
Politics! What an awesomely appropriate topic. Not as good as religion, but still.

It's techno-politics, but I suppose any hint of political discussion is a no-no. -

Oh, the link was techno-politics, yes. I just don't see what the rest of the post had to do with technology. -
Isn't banning political discussions also politics in itself?

I just saw that bit on the bottom.
What on earth does German law have to do with european law?
This was not the EU that made this rule it was Germany.

That's misrepresentation, (and often slander) which is illegal in the EU.

See CNN or ABC news.

Does news count as "music" or "film" in your mind, because (and I quote) ... "makes it all but illegal for individuals to make copies of films and music" from the article you just linked.

Because we impose our style of government on others, stating that it is "the best way", lie to our public about the "evils" or certain countries, invade Afghanistan and lock up prisoners without trial or jury indefinitely.
Or maybe that was someone else, I forget...

From what I've read, this piece of German legislation is a glorified DMCA.
It doesn't affect your ability to tape record programs off TV, for example.

Right on!
Charles are you listening!

Here is longer (original?) version in german.
This law mean banning of any recording device (VCR, DVDR, TiVo, etc). You cannot legally record any show/film for "late view" if you can't view it in time of translation.

I really hate to correct you on this, but the german article says nothing at all about TV...
It talks only about CD's, DVD's and downloads... -
Poor, poor BlackTiger
your german is to bad. I read the original article and they say nothing about TV and also the copying of DVD's and CD'S for private use is still possible. Only the amount of copies is restricted to a few numbers (around 7).

you know, it is kind of weird to rely on a russian and an american page more than on a german article.... when it comes to german laws and politics....
I have even checked on the page of the government and can't find anything on tv recordings there either. (http://www.bundestag.de/parlament/plenargeschehen) -
