There's apparently some release announcement tomorrow and I'm betting for the VS 2008 RC.
Another possiblity could be Silverlight 1.1 beta...
edit: Nope it was the "Releasing the Source Code for the .NET Framework Libraries" .. And looks like it has comments so there goes the merit of the Reflector integration idea.

Interresting. RC sounds likely, and would be awesome

Given Guthrie's comments at MIX a couple of weeks ago about the next milestone for Silverlight 1.1 being mainly plumbing stuff and therefore unlikely to be made public I doubt there's anything around Silverlight to be announced.
Team Foundation Server finally issued an Orcas beta 2 refresh yesterday so the timing for a different version of Orcas just as people finish installing it sounds about right

I asked Scott Guthrie about it on his blog and he confirmed that RC of VS 2008 is very close. But the TFS Beta 2 refresh has a 2 week window for finding bugs. What does this mean? That we will have RC when the feed back from TFS Beta 2 refresh has been processed?
I hope that VS 2008 RC will be released soon, my bet is within 2-3 weeks. -
Ok well if it's something entirely new all the better I guess.
BTW have any of you noticed the Beta 2 IDE getting corrupt/not refreshing properly? I tried on couple machines and doing different types of apps with same results. To me if it's possible to bump into this kind of bug easily without knowing about it then that's quite bad.
If you haven't seen that then I guess it's not that big deal but if it's as bad as it's here then postponing that fix to a service pack seems not the best idea. If nothing else it immediately gives the impression that there was no testing done on the product regardless of the truth.

have you posted the bug on connect ??
I have seen a few odd things in the html editor but have not had time to give them an exact repro case.
I have seen it get hosed and go to "white screen" where it then pops up a dialog telling me it's dying and trying to tell msft about the problem.

I just saw this...
Exciting! -
So lost the bet on the RC.
This source code release/license thing announced doesn't come as total surprise though as they hinted at this on the WinForms blogs long ago. Great to see they pursued it. -
It's certainly a very positive development, although it's not the kind of thing that actually gets me excited (since it covers a problem I only have from time to time).
As for the RC, I know it's irresponsible of me but I personally hope they skip a release candidate and just release VS 2008 soon...I want it. Now. Sigh. -
They released Vista without even a beta so I bet VS goes the same way [6]
