My p.c has a 5.9 score,i have a Hp elite with a 750 watt power supply and a intel core 2 quad processor 2.66 and 8 gig ram and nvidia BFG  9800 gt graphics,all of my scores wer 5.9 so it can happen.

calc per second 6.5

mem op per sec 7.4

 desktop per for windows aero 5.9

3d business and stuff 5.9

disk data trasfer rate 5.9

overall: 5.9

i have 5.9 in everything XD

SSD is the way to go. I have 2 x OCZ Vertex in raid 0 and I get a 7.6 on Win 7 RTM.

Yeah i have a windows of all 5.9

msi 790fx-gd70

amd phenom II x4 965

nvidia geforce 8800gt 512 video card

Western Digital green 1tb Hard drive

and 8gb ocz 1333mhz ddr3

Velociraptor only gets a 5.9. Must need an SSD or a drive to break the 5.9 barrier.

Got a new laptop and it also gets 5.9 for the hard drive (non-SSD).

Wow, you've got a big system partition. I always put the OS + apps on a relatively small partition (80GB) and everything else on different drives/partitions, so I can reformat the system drive without worrying about preserving anything. It's a habit I picked up during the Windows 2000 and XP betas, where we'd sometimes get a new build every week which meant re-installing your PC a lot.

Yeah I might do that, they make it pretty easy to resize partitions now adays.  What I usually do is just copy my user profile to an external drive and then copy it back.  I'll probably carve out a new partition when the Windows 8 betas come out.
