For me Vista has been a bit of a disappointment, I have had too many hardware problems with Vista, mainly with graphics drivers. In previous threads on Channel 9 others expressed the same frustrations.
So, what is the best thing Microsoft can do to restore the faith in Vista? Is SP1 enough or should they rebrand Vista as Vista SE? Should they just hurry up and release Windows Seven? ![]()

Microsoft should beat up Nvidia and Creative for creating these graphics and audio issues. By not letting their crapware drivers get WHQL certified, for instance.
-
Or Microsoft should adjust the WHQL tests and make them harder.

I think that's essentially the same thing as 'not letting their crapware drivers get WHQL certified.'

Stop over-promising; this includes features and release dates.
Make things solid before shipping, and that includes properly tested drivers from 3rd parties. Microsoft has a certain amount of muscle it can use to ensure that the likes of NVidia toe the line.

I have had no problems with my Dell Laptop and Vista Business. Runs great and have no stability issues.

"Hurry up"? Do you want to cut unknown features from W7, make Windows developers work more overtime, or make them work harder?

And about drivers. That's not a Vista issue per-se. It really isn't. But it's a Microsoft issue and they need to push harder for better and updated drivers.
