I'm looking for a link. I think I saw it on channel 9 a couple years ago.
I remember watching a pilot movie from Microsoft on ASP 2.0 and Master pages.
Basically, the top Microsoft people attend a conference on ASP 2.0 and then are given 12 hours to make a shopping cart site using exactly the same tools they learned during the conference.
They get one laptop and 3 batteries to last the 12 hours.
The movie selected 3 top programmers to get the job done.
Does this sound familar? Do you have a link to the pilot video?

Yep, it's a shame they canceled this project. I really enjoyed watching the episodes they were able to make. -

Whereas I found it to be an uninteresting and contrived marketing exercise. You get 5 points for every minute in an episode where the contestants don't say "oh man".
Now if it were some hardcore CS, that would be interesting... but watching some devvies get to grips with a commercial API? It's about as interesting as a Special Olympics event: "walk 10 metres", minus the schadenfreude.

For those still willing and interested to watch the three episodes that were produced, despite w3bbo's verbal bashing
, they are still located on MSDN TV you can access them via Wikipedia.

I especially enjoyed the Breaking Into Vegas episode, the last episode sadly.
