I hardly ever use IE these days, mainly Firefox, but IE has to be dusted off on some occasions for certain sites.
I fired it up today as I was having some issues downloading some videos from www.stage6.com, IE loaded the page slowly, then when downloading the videos it is reporting that it is going to take 30mins to download a 130Mb
file... now I realise these are Microsoft minutes, but that is ridiculous.
I don't have hte fastnet 'net connection (3mb), but Firefox was sucking these videos down in about 5-6mins each, even with 7 or 8 going on at the same time, I only had to wait 15 minutes or so.
Does anyone have any suggestion as to what would cause this?
Cheers.

Have you tried FDM?
I have no idea what's happening, but that might help you
Have you tried downloading from Stage6 from withing the DivX player? -
I have DAP installed, but that just saves all the videos from Stage6 as .divx with no option to rename them, so can only download them one at a time.
Downloading within he DIVX player is not something I've considered, but I'll give it a go.
Even so, the "raw" download speed should not be as slow as it is... -
I don't know if that is because the D/L window uses only one connection (??) to download the files. But I have also experienced that the IE download windows is rather slow in downloading stuff. I usually surround that by using a download manager. But that is sub-optimal because I would like to use the build in stuff - has less overhead... anyway: a nice suggestion for IE8, team?
