I know he's the mascot, but what is he? a Plug or something?
Was his Father 5 Guy and his mother 4 woman?!?!
-
-
No. He doesn't have a mother, but at least he has five fathers
They call themselves the
5 nine guys. He is a squishy little fiend who when he arrives at your door starts annoying the hell out of you and pressurizing you to
take him around the world (so I've heard). -
I'm still waiting mine.

-
Yea, I even sent a postcard. Got nothing.
-
Really? I got mine months ago.

If you sent a card and haven't gotten a nine guy, email Scoble. rscoble@microsoft.com.

Scott Johnson, CEO of Feedster, made the nine guy his own Web site: http://channel9dude.blogspot.com/
-
He is a new form of Borg; designed for covert infiltration. His proper name is "9 of 9".
You will be assimilated.

Perhaps I can bring clarity to this question - or at least make up something clever!?!
I am the designer responsible for the entire look of the channel 9 site and more to topic, the now famous "Channel 9 guy". The idea/direction for the site came from my interest in exploring "pixel design" techniques. At the time, my creative mind was heavily into creating Longhorn demos which equates to over polished, application UI design. The concept for Channel 9 was to not have it tied visually to anything Microsoft.
Lenn had an initial idea for a character that I took and massaged into what it is today. Seeing the life that this Channel 9 guy has made for himself makes me proud while at the same time a little freaked out by its success. Some of you guys really are geeks (and, I mean that in a good way
Keep taking C9 guy on vacations and submitting photos!!
I was just in Scobles office and saw another huge box full of C9 guys waiting to get out into the field. If you haven't already, send in a post card. If you are still waiting - it is on the way! -
OK folks, I know I'm a little late, but how do you get a 9 Guy?
-

Maybe the Channel9 team should add "Get a nine guy" to the top bar,
Loadsgood.

the "9 guy" is the physical manifestation of MS's alter ego to be open.
without wanting to tank the stock market - C9 dude was created as a small step towards being more transparent and accessable.
The little dude takes much of his look from Rocketship 7's Promo the robot - and not from (as is more commonly thought) - Uncle Bobby's Bimbo the birthday clown

Whoo hoo! I got my spongy nine guy!
Actually he came last Friday, but I tend to delay my emotional reaction in times of crisis -- British genes, no doubt...
