Hey Guys,
PDC 2005 has been announced! I'm definetely going.
What I wanna know is anyone else - especially independent developers - is planning on going?

Too expensive to travel from Ireland and pay for the PDC. If someone wants to sponsor me to go, no problem!

Me too... Did I mention that I'm a student. I need your help

I hope to go. In the middle of buying a house, so we will have to see, but the plan right now is to go.
I have never been to a developer conference and feel for my career it is about time I did. -
Yeah. I'm gonna travel from India to the US and it is DAMN expensive. But the after seeing so much blogging and video coverage of the last PDC, I made a decision to go to the next one (in 2003) - even if I have to sell my company!!

I'm already making my "Gadget List". new camcorder to record all the sessions, 24 hours worth of battery (don't wanna miss a moment), and learning how to developer superior bladder control (again, don't wanna miss a moment
)
Btw, often during MS events, they tie up with airlines and hotels to give better rates to attendees (I think they did it with ASP.net Connectons in 2002 and onwards). So keep a lookout for that. And if you book your tickets WAY in advance, you could just manage it without spending too much.

Oh, I should also specify... I'm looking for developers from INDIA who are going (everyone else is free to post, of course).

Hahaha, what you need is a Segway! LA Convention Centre is *H*U*G*E* The second day onwards, your legs start aching tremendously with the amount of walking you would have to do from one hall to another.
And, don't forget to get a huge haversack for all the freebies and goodies! If you are lucky enough, the attendee kit might include a neat one! I still flaunt my PDC 2003 backpack at any and all opportunity I get. Who says men can't be *vain* !
And, yeah, before you burst or herniate your bladder trying all sorts of insane control stunts, let me tell you, just like the center, the Rest Rooms are BIG! And, well spaced, in fact, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that they are spaced every 150 to 200 mtrs apart I think!
What you should be exercising are:
1) Your legs
2) Your stomach, cos the place is just food, food and food! From the out-of-this world breakfast, all the way to supra-awesome dinner, its a food heaven!
3) Your attention span
4) Your shoulders, to carry the heavy backpack with all the goodies and books!
5) Your fingers, to sustain all the XBox mayhem at the XBox room!
6) your options to get photographs and autographs of all your favorite Microsofties and books authors!
Personally, I couldn't manage to get a photo with Chris Sells!
Just in case you are interested, my pics from PDC 2003 (as proof, hehehe )are uploaded at http://liniv.tripod.com/PDC03

Vinil: Thanks so much for the info. It's people talking like you and showing these great pics (yes, you do have proof that you didn't get a pic with Chriss Sells) that make me wanna go to the PDC so badly.

You going again next year?
I just saw your link about PDC. The food thing scared me. I'll be putting 911 as Speed dial 1 on my cell.
PDC is heaven!! I guess geeks have this special option of going to heaven and coming back alive (more or less) and getting to go back every few years.
Btw, you oughta put your pic with the PDC backpack in your profile.
