What do you think the chances are that Microsoft might unbundle the individual applications of Office on the Mac so that a user could buy the parts he needs to complete what iWork offers?
I've just placed my order for iWork which includes Keynote and Pages, but I am missing a spreadsheet (theoretically) - why won't Microsoft sell it to me individually?
I've already paid $79 for the other two apps, I am not likely to pay $499 just for a spreadsheet app.

Beggars can't be choosers?

More seriously though, I'd heard that Apple was working on a spreadsheet app for its iWork package, code-named "Cells"
And of course all Apple rumors are true... -

I think I'd rather wait for Cells than use 2003 at even that price, Cells is almost certainly going to be cheaper than that. If the whole Office OSX suite was $150 I would probably go for it.
