Hi
I was wondering why I didn't get mail forwards from GMail to my hotmail account. So then I used my work email account as forward mail adress, and presto, within a minute I got a forward of the mail sent to gmail.
Is this happening to everyone?

Try asking Google support?

Who knows, maybe Hotmail blocks the messages because the forward will not change the from: and to: addresses.
I just was curious if someone knew more of this... as it's very easy to explain it as hostility between two competitors.
Thanks for suggesting to contact Google support.

It might be a possibility that Hotmail is "blocking" or dropping the emails. I'm saying this because when I got my GMail account (June 2004), there was much discussion around that Hotmail was blocking GMail invites. In fact I also witnessed this when I tried inviting one of my friend to GMail on his Hotmail address.

I found it:
Hotmail put the test mails into the bulk mail folder.
E-mail with test in subject and body seem to always end up in the trash..
Sorry about the fuss, false alarm

If you have GMail forwarding to your Hotmail account the Hotmail account may treat the incoming mail as junk because it wasn't addressed to your Hotmail account. You can work around this by adding your GMail account as a "mailing list". Adding a mailing list to your Hotmail account flags all mail addressed to that address as safe (as opposed to the safe list which is a list of safe "from" addresses).
