500Mb? I get through that in emails alone every week.

Me, too but if I carefully use compression and download attachemend on demand it works perfectly fine.
-
... and on a second note: Reading 500 MB+ email content on an iphone is anyway no fun.blowdart said:500Mb? I get through that in emails alone every week.

Yes but how selective is the iPhone email application? Will it download everything? Does it ignore attachments unless you ask for them?BeSharp said:

We have UMTS via Vodafone in our laptop. The first 500mb is indeed free, but after that it's 0,25 euro's (about two dollars) per mb.
I had a hart attack when the tool on my laptop showed a usage of 8Gb! -
I just put the fear of God into Vodafone UK. I have their mobile broadband in my laptop. I was bored; and after checking my own DNS servers for the current vulnerability I checked theirs. Bounced through 4 different departments before ending up with anyone that was involved with their network management

Hehehehe,... Serves them right!

It's pretty selective. Allows you to download attachements when you need them.blowdart said:

One other aspect is, that ALL of the traffic is covered by the flat rate, only the 500 FIRST MB will be delivered with 3G speed, everything higher than 500 MB only at ISDN speed. So there is no risk in cost explosion.
-
Ah that's an interesting way of doing it.BeSharp said:

I imagine I caused a nice bit of confusion in a store in Akihabara in Tokyo by switching the iPhone on display in one of the stores there to Dutch. Let's see them figure that one out.
It is a very nice device though. -

Really? Quite strange exchange rate.
"About 8 dollars" = 1 EUR?
