The Dev Team has just released the update for Pwnage Tool. It's now version 2.0.2 which supports Apple's latest official firmware, 2.0.1. It includes the jailbreak for 3G iPhones. I'm currently updating
and
keep posting through the process.
I've also mirrored the file as Dev Team's servers usually get a huge run shortly after release.
Have fun!

Why do you think this forum is the best place to announce this sort of stuff?

A couple of reasons:
- Tech-savvy users
- No topic restriction, actively asking to post Technology related news and stuff from
- Tolerant, intelligent, clever and open users
- Very good feedback in the past
- Also one of my sources for this kind of stuff
Hope this helps, ZippyV. Keep up the good work!

Wrong assumption: Opening the iPhone is far from illegal. In fact, Vodafone itself in countries where they did not get the iPhone deal (as e.g. in Germany) do post instructions how to open the iPhone and offer a special tarrif to iPhone users.ZippyV said:

I'd suggest that you try to make sure that you're correct before shouting. I appreciate your feedback anyway, as always.

The key is that if you legally PURCHASED the iPhone you can do with it what you want. If you upload a different OS, fine. The only thing you're not allowed to do is use carrier's special tarrifs as they might be bound to an original iPhone. That's exactly why Vodafone offers tarrifs even given the fact that they do NOT sell iPhones in Germany.

That guide doesn't say anything about using the Pwnage Tool.BeSharp said:
