I would expect the iphone to be $50 really.. I mean, here in the UK there was this ad saying its free on blah.. the contract for it to be free is like £50 a month.. every other phone that is £50 a month, not only would the phone be free but they probably give you a minibus for that.. You can get 360s, wii's tvs, tons of crap they just give you for buying a phone.. if you get the iphone thats it.. be happy they didn't charge you extra.. uh thanks.. its a big rip off for the average person who would just buy it because AWWW DUDE SO COOL, but then never use any of the features on it.

Also, I've been waiting for a zune since the first ones, I don't want to import one, I want the full ms supported zune experience here.. what the hell the hold up? not interested in the market?

Not sure if I get this, so it allows me to get whatever I want as much and as many as I want as long as I pay the monthly fee, right? In that case, frankly it isn't a "purchase" but more of a "on demand radio". Now, as long as I see this as an "on demand radio" instead of "me buying music albums", it's a great deal.

"me buying music albums" to me is = DRM free stuff.

Although, I'm a bit too paranoid of having a wifi radiating device near my heart... does anyone know if it has a "flight mode" where you can kill the wifi alltogether? That'd be nice!

Well aparently there are different types of flash memory chips that might be put into devices. There's the cheap MLC flash chip and the faster but horrificly expensive SLC memory chip.

SLC has speeds like 30MB/26MB (read/write per second) whilst MLC has 25MB/8MB (read/write per second) for comparison: an IDE SSD with 32GB goes at ~80EUR here for the MLC version ad for ~270EUR for the SLC part.

I'm sure they don't put SSD in the classic with 120GB and I'm also sure they don't use SLC, but MLC and only the chip (opened an iPod nano 3rd gen once) without the fancy flash memory to IDE translation unit, which would be even less, dunno the exact price cause it changes every day or so, go ask Samsung, they pay like $30 maybe $40 for a chip, at max.

I personally would love to get a Zune 80, even if I need to import it, but it's got a normal HDD, and I already dropped my iPod nano 3-4 times. If I only drop the Zune once, I'm pretty sure the HDD would go whack... that's not good for me... and those small Zunes... I don't like them so much. The screen of the iPod nano is at 204 dpi and far better than that of a Zune 4/8/16 (when's that 16GB model out anyway?)

My zune does have a Wireless off setting, which effectively kills off the WiFi.
