Why didn't they make USB ports idiot proof? So they could be plugged in one way or the other. It's a pain to get them in sometimes since there's no way to tell which way is "up" or "down" or "left" or "right" on these things.
Personally, I've always wished that one side of USB ports and connectors were chamfered (kind of like HDMI ports and connectors) to make it easier to know which orientation the connector should be before trying to plug it in.
