SQL Server (especially the Management Studio)Bas said:I suppose it's a close call between the 360 and Surface. The 360's problem is that outside the US, its coolness is about half that of what it is inside the US, all because Microsoft apparently can't get their international act together.
Surface's problem is that I'm not a top-rate chain of hotels.
Come to think of it, World Wide Telescope is pretty cool too, although I guess that early beta release is all we'll ever see of it.
Oh well, I'll go with the 360, I guess.
Thanks... The team rocks.section31 said:Bas said:*snip*

Okey, I changed my mind... today's coolest Microsoft[+Bungie] product is Halo, even now, after years, I remember the day I was playing Halo for the first time. I've found a demo of it in a computer magazine at the university library, somehow Halo maps with the time I've got interest in programming, shortly after that I've found C9 and all the cool things started... and all started with Halo!iStation said:magicalclick said:*snip*
No love for MS BOB
It is hands down the WinFS !!!!
hehe just kidding....one of the most impressive is Photosynth.
In the IDE Genre, methinks it is Microsoft LightSwitch
The worst that got a little better in WIndows 7 is Paint
- Windows [Azure]
- SQL Server (sans SSMS, I'm using LINQPad)
- Singularity, Helios, Bartok, Phoenix, etc.
- LINQ (sans LINQ to Objects)
- Excel (I wish: Visio, Word)
- Semantic Engine
- Visual Studio
- Bing is shaping up, but not quite there yet
- Internet Explorer also shaping up and impacts a lot of people
Nah, can't choose. But out of potential strategic importance it has to be Singulairy, Helios, spin-offs and related technologies.
Zune HD for sure. Truly an under rated device. Zune.net is pretty damn cool too. Very functional, great silverlight player for podcasts ...etc.
now is 2 years later, I think Kinnect is really cool. I really want to see something cool build on top of it.
Skull icon is your friend.
As a developer I would have to say VS specifically VS2010 and all the stuff around .NET development. Anybody who uses a different environment and eschews visual studio is delusional.
