...Since MS launched their "I'm a PC" campaign. I can say w/ certainty that I haven't seen a one on TV since then. I'm not even sure if I've seen those on a web site even.
Apple sure was affected dramatically by MS ad.
I wonder what their next ones will be like.
I hope John Hodgeman isn't out of a job!

They were showing one at the Macbook event, but I dunno.
They dropped the campaign in the UK pretty quick, when they learned that we don't respond well to smug fibbing ....
-
I thought I saw a few during a football game....one where PC was in a pizza box trying to entice college students.

Next ones Apple?
I'm also Pc -
I havent seen one for years because they bailed on them here in the uk after 2 weeks, aparently consumers here didn't like being dictated a fake reality.. but then just yesterday I saw the ms 'im a pc' commercial here.Dovella said:Next ones Apple?

Hard to believe that it's been two years already since they started doing those.

I've seen a similar one to that (in the US) about two weeks ago, only it was about how easy it was to download stuff from the app store and play games on the iPhone/iPod Touch. I haven't seen a single Mac vs. PC ad in the weeks I've been in the US. Looks like they've switched to simply demonstrating the product now. If that's the case, Microsoft's plan apparently worked.
It was interesting to note how many Windows ads there were, by the way. That "I'm a PC" ad came up in almost every block of commercials, and I even noticed a couple of football games being sponsored by "Windows". Sounds like they're really going all out with that campaign over there. I wonder if they'll move them out to the rest of the world sometime soon, too. -
Apple probably realised that once Microsoft starts copying something of theirs, it's time to come up with something new and more exciting (and then the whole cycle goes on and on...)

Mmm ... wasn't really a copy though was it?Turbodad said:Apple probably realised that once Microsoft starts copying something of theirs, it's time to come up with something new and more exciting (and then the whole cycle goes on and on...)
While Apple's ad was trying to say 'if you use a PC you're a boring idiot.'
Microsoft's ad was saying 'actually a lot of interesting clever people use PCs.'
I think Apple was banking on Microsoft's diving into the mud with them; in which case they would have played 'Look at MS! They're bullying us!' card to get the fanboys worked up, and they would have then have had cause to step up the 'I'm a Mac, I'm a PC' into a real bunfight.
MS made their cleverest marketing move in a decade; they took the high ground, which kind of leaves the Apple ads with no place to go.

Funny I haven't seen the apple ads for awhile and the flood of bullshÃt starts almost instantly.. since when was a mac more likely to 'just work' with anything that apple didn't "make" theirselves..
Reality, pc stood on his own.. jap camera walks on, says something - pc has a rudimentary knowledge of the cameras language and manages to have a simple chat.. just before the commercial ends the mac runs on out of breath... YES! I made-
*commercial ends*
(just to sum up, my point is that the mac can bearly network with a pc, let alone the 'latest jap camera').
