Its going to be a while, if ever, till BlueSpruce comes close to competing with Silverlight / Flex . Good luck IBM your going to need it big time!

Seems like IBM are seeing the RIA space as something they want to be part of, rightfully so as its a massive industry that just continues to grow and grow.

Sounds bizzarely similar to the story of flash.. wanst one of the original concepts of flash to be what you could do in standard web if only you had a stable platform to work on?

Ohh, please not another one.
So we have now:
Adobe - Flash
Microsoft - Silverlight
SUN - JavaFx
IBM - BlueSpruce
Yahoo - ? Iguess ther was something to
Something forgot???

It sounds like a chat server and an extendible AJAX toolkit. I don't get it.

Wasn't Silverlight something close to that too in 1.0? A little competition doesn't hurts, on the contrary...DCMonkey said:It sounds like a chat server and an extendible AJAX toolkit. I don't get it.

Not really. This BlueSpruce appears to be some kind of collaborative app framework that frankly you could build on top of any suitable framework (for server side) and by using any existing RIA system or, as BS is, HTML and AJAX for client side.Ion Todirel said:

I don't see how it directly competes with any of the RIA platforms. It just doesn't use them.
