I got bioshock loaded.
Very weird. The cat lady keeps killing me.
I like the art deco stuff... very Kubrick
ps - coming from the doom/quake/serious sam world - the water effects are cool
-

Very cool game, loved it: the costumes, artwork, atmosphere and the story was very cool.
And yes, the cat lady is very evil
Try to shot it (it's a monster, kind of) in the head. If you have any EVE left, try to use the electric plasmid to freeze the monsters for a moment, then you can more easily kill/target them. -
its strange... how many young gamers would want to play a woody allen / sky captain game?Ion Todirel said:Very cool game, loved it: the costumes, artwork, atmosphere and the story was very cool.

yes, that was a bit weird, unexpected and maybe a showstopper for me too, at the beginning, but I got used to it after a whilejamie said:i thought bioshock was in the future though

When I compare Bioshock to Crysis, Crysis wins hands down. Bioshock's atmosphere and artwork was fine, but there are problems in the execution.
When you put the Shader Detail on high the game crashes periodically, same with some other settings. The only way to achieve stability is by turning a lot of the eye-candy off, which ruins the game. Additionally the menu system looks ugly at high resolutions (I run at 1920x1200) and the game's texture resolutions just aren't high enough. The menu cursor (and mouse speeds in general) don't respect my system settings thus making the game hard to control; combine this with how the game crashes (without saving control settings) makes it a frustrating experience.
....this is what happens when you port a console FPS over to PC. It should be the other way around.
(and if anyone suggests the crashes are due to an overclocked/overheated CPU I'd like to mention I run my GTX 280 underclocked with the fan at 100% duty cycle) -
So Crysis wins just because of the graphics? That's a weak argument. Anyway, BioShock played just fine on my xboxW3bbo said:When I compare Bioshock to Crysis, Crysis wins hands down. Bioshock's atmosphere and artwork was fine, but there are problems in the execution.

I love BioShock - I've clocked up way too many hours on it. I'm currently halfway through attempting the 100G achievement of completing it on Hard, with Vitachambers disabled - die and you have to start the entire game again. But yeah, seriously great game, immersive gameplay, great storyline.
@w3bbo did you play the game? or give up after the troubles? -
I got past the Surgery part, but it's been 5 weeks since I last touched it (since I came home for the holidays). I'll probably pick it up when I go back next weekend.Lloyd_Humph said:I love BioShock - I've clocked up way too many hours on it. Bioshock took me weeks to complete, but I'm just a casual gamer.W3bbo said:
