Can You Help a Guy Out?

Hey, Channel 9, I'm trying to raise money for the Special Olympics of Kentucky and Ohio, and I hope I can spread my message here.

Special Olympics is a non-profit organization that offers year-round athletic training and for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Each year thousands of athletes train and compete throughout Kentucky and Ohio, developing physical fitness and increasing confidence and self-esteem. (more info)

I'm trying to raise money by jumping into some icy water in the middle of Winter (Feb-7). The logic is that you'd find that act so inspirational that you would donate some money to the Special Olympics. Or you'd want to see me suffer, either way, I'm cool with it.

Special bonus for the ladies of C9. There will be pictures, most likely, I'll be shirtless

Just donated. Sorry I couldn't give more to this cause - I supported Siskin's Children Institute in Tennessee for months - it's awesome to see the Children enjoy events like this. God bless you and your efforts, and I hope that many lives are affected by your hard work in helping these men, women, and children.

Therefore, I'll just wish you luck, and that you don't get sick.  I live a little ways downstream from you, and I know I wouldn't want to jump into the Ohio river (doesn't help that Louisville still has sewer overflows that pour untreated waste directly into the river if we get enough rainfall...  maybe Cincinatti doesn't do that...)

It looks like the plunge has been out of the river for at least since 2003...



Because the Ohio river at Cincinnati has the exact same reputation as the Louisville section for sewer... backups LOL! But I think things have improved greatly... I do remember seeing people water skiing last summer, so it can't be all bad...

We are plunging into a pool, but still... it's the middle of winter in the midwest... should be fun... hehe
