You know that this is a beta product, right? It might hang or blue screen from time to time... depending on the drivers and other probable bugs. Just to set your expectations right.

. Been playing with
beta software long enough (and roaming the forum long enough to know that you are one of the spies who had training @ MSFT)....but I find that many companies these days just push half baked products out in hope that people will do the testing for them. Hope
this is not one such case.

Most definitely not the case. This beta is one of the most solid I've ever used. That said, littleguru's point is only that you shouldn't expect it to be perfect and that bugs most likely lurk inside it...bugfreecode said:

It's not a good idea to make a time-bombed OS beta (expires August) your primary OS.
-
Isn't the expiration timed so another release will be out by then?joechung said:It's not a good idea to make a time-bombed OS beta (expires August) your primary OS.

Maybe. Maybe not. I would find out for certain before I made a time-bombed beta my primary OS.brian.shapiro said:

Went out and bought a new WD raptor so I could keep my existing Vista OS and still setup W7 on the same system setup I'm currently used to. Yesterday was a mess, but MS really pulled it together today.
Could one of the C9 staffers send our thanks for the great work and the crazy overnight server maintenance? -
Yep, I installed 7 on a spare hard drive I had. If I need to go back to Vista it's just a matter of switching the SATA cables. I've encountered a couple bugs already too, so I'm glad I didn't wipe out Vista. No show stoppers, but you never know. I am really impressed with how fast it returned from sleep. Vista would take about 8-10 seconds. On the same machine 7 took under 1 second.Ix said:Went out and bought a new WD raptor so I could keep my existing Vista OS and still setup W7 on the same system setup I'm currently used to. Downloaded Windows 7 x64. But can't get interested enough to actually install it. Been running Vista x64 for the past 9 months and it's just fine.

One problem I have been having is the fact that Opera constantly crashes on 7. Has anyone else had this issue? It is kind of annoying.
