If there is only ONE Home edition, why is it called Home 'Premium'?

Because Home Basic does exist, you just can't buy it (in developed countries).sanatgersappa said:If there is only ONE Home edition, why is it called Home 'Premium'? -

Umm no, Microsoft won't license it in developed countries is probably a better bet.cheong said:CannotResolveSymbol said:*snip*Or... noone is interested to sell it (to people in developed countries)

The guys at Anandtech have a feature summary table for it.

Given the number of names and number of files in your average C:\Program Files\Live Mesh\Remote Desktop\ directory... I think it's a pretty safe guess that they aren't using the Remote Desktop bits that are used by Remote Desktop capable versions of Windows.

One more reason to install Windows Essentials.dahat said:blowdart said:*snip*Given the number of names and number of files in your average C:\Program Files\Live Mesh\Remote Desktop\ directory... So, any chance of a future WHS connector also coming with its own remote desktop software? That'd be amazing.dahat said:blowdart said:*snip*Given the number of names and number of files in your average C:\Program Files\Live Mesh\Remote Desktop\ directory... And yes, I know it's pointless to ask at this point.

Hey, I'd prefer remote desktop just being enabled in all Windows versions, then we wouldn't need the Mesh one or a hypothetical WHS one. But I guess that makes too much sense.

They just need 2 versions
1) Monopoly Edition - has every MS app under the sun installed
2) Fair Trade Edition - Everything stripped out except the OS -

So, essentially, MinWin? -
It’s not pointless to ask... it’s just pointless to expect me to answer you with an absolute yes or noBas said:

Every time you and others ask though, it does remind us of the desire for such functionality, something we will hopefully be able to address in future. -
Then my relentless spamming of stuff I want in WHS will continue.dahat said:
