I don't know what to believe about this stuff anymore.  But regardless, I think putting the brakes on the climate change movement is probably a good thing.  There's already been many irrational decisions made on account of global warming hysteria as it is.  Slowing down and thinking things over would do the world a lot of good.

It's very simple. Stop the waste. Stop having personal computers turned on 24/7. Turn off the lights when you're not in a room. Turn off a TV when you're not watching. Share a ride to work. Take a bus to work. Use a car that is fuel efficient.

And, most important of them all....

Why should we even have electricity at all?

As soon as under-developed countries become developed (which is another part of the agenda, right?) your little efficiencies become worthless, so let's just abolish electricity.

For a period of three weeks I tried living without electricity at home.

What did I miss most?

A hot shower in the mornings and reading into the night.

No radio, television, hot meals, heating or cooling.

Try it--you will hate it.

I was and am a big advocate of nuclear power plants along the lines of what France has now.

The same crowd against coal powered plants now was against nuclear powered plants then.

It would take about 400 additional nuclear plants at a cost of approximately $500 billion and five to ten years time to build 400 standardized nuclear power plants.

 While more expensive to construct, they would cost less to operate over its lifetime.

Huber is right, read his book and watch his video.

Efficiency leads to increases demand as people find other ways to use electricity.

The PC is an excellent example as is watching videos over the internet on YouTube.

Alternative energy will only lead to more and more coal being used to generate electricity.

Wind and solar are simply too expensive compared to much cheaper coal and nuclear.

France went nuclear because it did not have coal.

China will use coal and nuclear as will the United States for at least the next 100 years.

I think there are more pressing matters than Global Warming. To conserve resources for me is for simple reasons: there is no gain in wasting resources and the more we waste now, the price will go higher in the future.

That message doesn't work, because as long as someone doesn't know that everyone else will be doing the same thing, they won't do it either. Electricity and water, however, can be progressively more expensive based on how much you use. Cities can improve public transit and create incentive for commuters to use it.

Recently, the city of Los Angeles has distributed trash bins to every household, including a bin for recyclable materials, and people are actually recycling now because its easy for them.

But people are cynical of government-sponsored solutions because a lot of people on the left overreach and try to impose solutions that work against the market rather than work with it.

while i don't believe in man-made global warming (at least not to the degree of what the hysteria recently is about), i do think it at least brought some good points:

like making people more aware of economic use of energy and resources - after all oil is gone rather soon and i would rather prefer that rest to be used for synthetic products (like the cases of our countless electronic devices) than just wasting it by burning it.

also good in changing to cleaner energy is the slow reduction of pollution - especially air-pollution (and i don't really mean CO2, but the far worse CO1). the air here in central europe is quite acceptable, but i seriously don't want to live in huge cities in the USA or China - wouldn't be able to breath there.


and at last, instead of putting money into creating more fission energy or random short populistic shots at renewable energy (like biofuel which would require an unimaginable amount of farmland [which then can't be used to produce food] to replace coal and/or oil), i would prefer our first world to more actively support the research of fusion energy as that would solve all our problems as it produces no toxic/radioactive byproducts.
