Windows 7 Sleep Issue

Just wondering if anyone else here has had this issue.

Almost every time my computer goes to sleep, I come back to it after a few hours and it's beeping continuously. It's not a motherboard alarm; it's a PC speaker type beep. Sleep worked fine on Vista and Win7 Beta, so I'm curious what might have changed in the RC.

Here's my system, latest drivers installed:

• Gigabyte 965P-DS3 (rev. 1.0), latest BIOS installed
• Core 2 Duo E6600
• 6GB (2x2GB, 2x1GB) DDR2800 RAM
• ASUS Ati HD3850 512MB PCI-Express
• Ati Theater 550-based TV card (PCI-E)
• Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty (PCI)
• Netgear WMP311v3 (PCI)
• 2x500GB WD SATA II
• 1x80GB WD SATA I
• SATA DVD-ROM, SATA DVD-RW
• 1.44MB floppy drive

It's beeping because it wants your attention, try giving it a goodnight kiss before it goes to sleep, maybe it'll stop beeping.

It's a motherboard alarm, many do this when the fan speed is low, or cpu temp is too high, check with the manufacturer and the BIOS for alarm settings.

I had a lot of problems with laptop sleep not long after the beta release. Turns out it was because Virtual CloneDrive had a pretty major compatibility issue with 7. Uninstalling it didn't fix the problem; I had to go so far as to System Restore to before I installed that.

When I restore mine from sleep, and then attempt to access a UNC share or mapped drive, Explorer freezes for like two minutes while it remaps it.  The amusing part is that my RDC session to the same server is fine.

Therefore, I do not sleep my computer.

I've got the same issue without the beeping part. Execute "powercfg -lastwake" to know what cause Windows to get out of sleep. Maybe that can lead you to the solution.

I ended up reinstalling Windows and the problem hasn't returned. The only thing I did differently was to not install the video drivers from AMD/ATI, instead using the ones from Windows Update. Aren't betas fun?

My hard drive will not wake up from sleep, caues me to bluescreen everytime.

Someone at Microsoft somewhere is reading these problem reports and thinking, wtf.

I have the latest chipset drivers, I also have different hard drives since the last time this error happened. Something with Intel's ICH9 southbridge I bet.
