Hi, did you guys recently ran across some new info about the MS Singularity project ? Or if you could post some links on some interesting articles about it, would be great. I ask, because this looks like it could be the "next big thing", and there ist almost no buzz about it on the Internet.

If Midori is indeed about making a new production-quality kernel/OS from scratch using advanced ideas from the academic/research world, and doing it as a private incubation, it could be years before we hear much of anything about it since that's a huge undertaking. If they really intend it to replace NT in Windows, we'll still probably get Windows 8 and 9 in between ...

Well said. Midori is a private incubation. Singularity is a public research OS. They are not the same thing.

All I know is. It will be a long long long way. Even if Singularity or Midori hits the markets, it won't hit Home Users like NT did on Windows 2000 first.

Equality in software is really complex. If they are not the same thing, are they congruent? How about the general use of SIPs for base windows services?

I can't speak about the specifics of Midori. Sorry. I will say that Midori and Singularity are not congruent...
