How Apple rumours start - lesson 1

In this case, the rumour starts when Mac fans are disappointed by the product in the announcement, which leads to an unfounded belief that the 'real' product, the one they were hoping for, will show up in the next iteration a few months down the line.

Case in point.

It is true that Apple reserved the "iSlate.com" domain. Perhaps they'll release a $2k tablet PC running OSX with a keyboard.

It has to be said that Apple is a great American brand - I remember thinking they were upstarts because Apple was owned by the Beatles.

Unless some joke's just whooshed over my head, Apple Inc isn't Apple Corp; there was a court case a while back over Apple Inc (iPod, et al) getting involved in music which was Apple Corp's (the Beatles) area. They aren't the same company.

Indeed, worth pointing out for those of us who were not around for the original Apple.
