Yeah? Not 6th? I'd better go get my present.
EDIT: I don't know... the first post to the coffeehouse was 4/7/2004.
EDIT 2: According to the following table, user registration jumped on 4/6/2004, so, I think that's the Grand Opening.
PS. Most of the users joining prior to 4/6/04 are MS people.

We're celebrating on the sixth with a cool series of videos.

What the heck is Channel 9?
Channel9 went LIVE on April 6th, I had this animated.gif up on my blog about a week before.
I thought C9 was going to be a place to link our blogs together, no one expected the photoshopkids! -

Jamie rejects Photopshop and swears by CorelDraw, though.

Okay...but will there be anything for those of us with "no-so-great" internet connections (read: dial-up)? I know, I'm probably in the minority on this one, but I thought I would ask anyway. -
I'll sing you happy birthday!

Seriously, all of our videos are encoded at three speeds: 300/100/43kbps so they should work over dialup.
And, why don't you get some podcasting software like DopplerRadio or iPodder and set it to download the videos overnight to your hard drive while you sleep? That'll work even on dialup. -

I don't know where he lives but over here people on dialup still have have to pay their phone bills. Back when we had dialup (well, ISDN actualy) Internet usage was limited to two hours per day to prevent the phone bill from skyrocketing. -
so what is the actual time? 12 midnite tonight?
EST? -
It's seven past midnight already! (CET)
Happy birthday C9!
I'd break out the champagne, but I don't have any. Still, cheers and many more years.
