Holy heck, when you thought Live Messenger couldn't get any worse.... It is totally going the way of ICQ.
Why use URL shorteners here! Use the Real URL!

Because he's just copy pasting stuff from Twitter, I think.

Yep,
and Bit.ly is INDEXable from search engine

The problem with such URLs is this:
Yes, very immature of me, I know ![]()
(although as far as I'm aware that site doesn't work anymore)
EDIT: Just a hint... the problem is you don't know where you're going when you hit the URL... now what kind of website is that ideal for linking to?... imho webforums should block URL shorteners for the above reason.
If WLM supports Facebook, I wonder if it would easily support all jabber networks, such as Google Talk...

Devolla , The CoffeeHouse is not your own personal Twitter account. If people really want to know the stuff you look at they will folow you on twitter so you can retweet. Seems like you make a feature "Retweet to cofeehouse"...

One can always hope. It would certainly be a nice change!
Thanks for the link Dovella.
Despite being annoyed with how bloated with 'useless' features Live Messenger is getting with each release, I'm actually kind of interested in this. A bunch of my friends have moved to Facebook and Twitter almost exclusively for their messaging stuff, and I just want it all in one place. This should work fine for that.

What is the point of those bit.ly and tinyurl links anyway? Is copying and pasting from the address bar really that hard?

I use them when the URL wraps and does not work when clicking. This happens for some email clients and IM clients.

It's certain people treating C9 as twitter *sigh*
