Anyone with an MSDN subscription who noticed Windows "Longhorn" Beta 1 on the MSDN Subscription Product Keys page? ![]()
Can't wait for it to appear on either MSDN or the connect site ![]()

WinBeta reports that it's coming tomorrow on Connect and on Aug 3rd for MSDN subscribers, as is mentioned on the official Vista page.
Can't wait! =) -

I hadn't noticed and I hadn't even realised that MSDN Universal subscribers were going to get Beta 1 so that's a bit of a bonus. It'll be fun watching THAT download run at a trickle once word gets out that it's up.
Keys requested and all ready to go!
Thanks for the heads up! -
This has made my day!
I didn't realize it either! Unfortunately, I can't access the product keys section (keeps defaulting me to the "What's Hot" page..
I'll keep checking.. I'm so psyched!
-
I got a few Vista bugs assigned to me after a recent Vista bug bash so I installed the latest Beta 1 build and all I have to say is "WOW!!!!"
You guys are going to love this OS (and my machine isn't even cool enough to do the glass effects).

I think MSDN subscribers should recieve Windows Vista beta the same day, if not before normal beta testers, after all we pay for MSDN.

I was able to get my keys, you may want to try it again. -

Sigh... no matter how much effort hardware engineers put into making machines faster, software engineers can suck up the extra performance with a few "cool" "effects".

Can't wait to finally download the beta1 bits from Connect
It's already the 27th here in Europe, why is America always behind *-) -

Might as well put those precious bodil ... err ... spare GPU cycles to use if you have em.
And if it impacts CPU performance enough to notice or saps battery life, you can Turn It Off (tm).

Anyone able to lend me $2,799 so I can get Vista Beta 1 when it ships? I'll pay you back some day I promise

Hey, Mr. Centurion, since you work for Microsoft, and probably are familiar with MSF, and the term of a "zero-bug bounce".. Is a zero-bug bounce something that is to be scheduled by management? or Something that is observed? I"m not talking an approximate time, but saying "we'll have a zero-bug bounce on 1/2/2005" (or whatever). It's something that was on a project plan at my job, and always thought it was amusing.. (I thought it was a observation, not a planned date). Or am I mistaken?

Yay! Got mine as well (added the RSS feed for msdn subscriptions to my homepage - start.com/myw3b
)

We do have ZBB's and they are scheduled by management but the date is often decided after the managment team has gotten feedback from the various teams as to what date they can hit. Even still, it's something handed down from on high and there are always exceptions and slippages (which is why I think it's a bad goal). -

Less that and more a matter of testing. Out of the box in Beta 1, only certain cards are supported for the glass effects under the LDDM. After Beta 1 ships, I'm sure that list will increase as more hardware companies come on board with Vista.
But yes, we will always use what we have
