If you know how to handle your windows you wont get spyware or viruses
my xp installation is 1 year old and there was no virus since the installation date.
so my thougts about Vista:
- performence
- new desktop system
- security -

Agreed but the majority of windows users have not got a clue how to protect or defend their systems. Most of the home users dont have a clue what adware / spyware etc is

Whoooaaa There. Less of the personal attacks. Grow a sense of humor for christ's sake.
It's one thing to say the latest version of the operating system is the most secure ever etc but when you consider that it's being benchmarked against Win XP / 2000 / ME / 89SE etc all the way back that fills me with no confidence whatsoever. I've handed over far too much cash in the past to MS for newer more secure operating systems only to be let down by oversights and sloppy code.
Dont get me wrong, i will be upgradig to Vista but not untill i've seen how it performs in the real world.
