Hopefully I'll be able to get a copy of WinV from one of my Beta friends - I didn't get an invite for the Beta program... ![]()
When is the Beta2 release planned ? Is that going to be more "open" - to everyone ?!?

Apparently Beta 2 is slated to be released at the end of this year, or possibly early next year.

Beta 1 is up on MSDN Subscribers

No, *Hopefully* you wont get it from from one of your beta friends. It is not public. If they give it to you, they are breaking their NDA and can be banned from all future MS Betas.
Remember, it requires a CD key and the CD key is tied to an individual. If it shows up on a warez site, you can be banned from betas for LIFE.

I went there but there is not much offered. Do you plan on adding stuff soon?

I'm willing to bet...this is not the right place for any of this stuff and probably should be deleted...

the beta version is only a half-product, so it's legal.
maybe you don't want it, but may be others really need it.

Why would anyone "need" a beta?

..to do development on maybe...
since WinVista Beta 1 is aimed at developers, that is.

The only developers that need it are hardware ISVs. All other developers will be fine with the WinFX SDK, apart from a few exceptions.

There is one other reason to get a beta if you're a developer: application compatibility testing. -
Even then you should not warez this: A professional developer without MSDN is like a desk without a 9Guy

Is it really? Who says that? -
um... do not discuss illegal activities here. Also, beta 1 is only for MSDN subscribers.. not to be shared around.
You will get caught by WGA. Just thought I would warn you guys... better safe than sorry

I’m really disappointed for what I’m reading in this thread. Microsoft should pay attention to what’s going on in here. You, leighsword, could get in serious legal issues if you get caught. It may be normal to do those things where you’re from, but here in the states, we don’t mess with that crap. So please, take you illegal recommendations elsewhere and let us be in peace in this wonderful C9 community. -

Just out of curiosity, what makes you so legally aware? is it Microsoft IP Hype or your legal education back at school?
