Yup. It works fine with 360 Kinect (but of course you can't use features exclusive to Kinect for Windows hardware). It's fine to use 360 Kinect with the release SDK for development purposes...you'll just get some annoying warning in console output reminding you about that. It's only for when you want to permanently install the Kinect somewhere for commercial/noncommercial purposes that you need to buy Kinect for Windows.
