A better Bluetooth

Today in my commute to work, I listened to the Windows Phone Radio podcast, episode 46.  They mentioned Bluetooth in Mango, and I was once again interested in this.  However, I don't want to rush out and buy one, because I've had very poor experience with Bluetooth.  At it's best, any Bluetooth I've owned in the past worked half the time.  Most of the time it worked considerably less than half the time.  However, perhaps my problem has been just getting whatever Costco had on their shelves; maybe I've just been buying faulty Bluetooth ear pieces, etc.

So, what do people suggest/recommend for good, reliable, Bluetooth ear pieces, head-sets, etc?

I've never used a phone earpiece, but other bluetooth devices I have (mice, keyboards, game controllers) all work perfectly every time.

Not interested in the usual ear bud. When I'm out and about I'd prefer using the phone like a normal person, so that people don't think I'm talking to myself. When I'm in the car, I'd rather use something that works through my car radio. That's why the Scosche interests me. The S9 interests me for listening to music without a wire getting in the way.

However, I don't have experience with either device. If anyone's used either of these and would like to comment, I'd be interested in hearing testimonials. I've done some research, and expect I'll probably own one or both of these within a couple of months.

The most reliable bluetooth ear pierce I've used is the Motorola H17txt.

It's A2DP compliant so I can use it for both telephone calls and also for listening to podcasts, streaming audio, etc. I used to use it on Droid where it had the Motospeak app which would read text messages to you and identify callers. Since replacing the Droid with the iPhone, I no longer have that capability but it is still a dependable earpiece. Most of the Bluetooth issues I've had have been related to bugs in the BT implementations on the Android and iOS platforms. 

The only issue I have with the Motorola H17 is that it has a "feature" of emitting a tone every few seconds to inform me that there is no 3G signal present, which means when I'm using it to listen to podcasts or streaming audio on my WiFi Only iPad, I have this stupid tone in my ear every few seconds.

IMO, Jawbone and Jabra suck.

Is any WP7 headset A2DP compliant?

I use the Plantronics M1100 with my HTC Trophy. The music and podcast sound quality is great. The call and Tellme sound quality is awful.

My Jabra BT620s headphones now work with WP7 Mango where they didn't work previously.

I've yet to try Mango against our car's BT enabled Clarion SatNav/media console. That didn't work previously either.

BT has been very hit and miss for me.

I previously said Jabra suck, but I should clarify that I've had a BT8040 and it actually is very dependable with regard to telephone calls on my iPhone. It seemed to be okay for both telephone calls and podcasts/streaming audio on my Android phone, but on my iPhone it seems to cut out a lot with non-telephone call media. It also seems a bit low as far as volume. It's a good spare when my H17 is on charge tho.

I am using plantronics voyager 510Sl bluetooth headset. This system was easy to install and works great. I am on the phone 85% of my work day. I have had no reception problems and the earpiece is very comfortable. The only problem I had was the ringer mic on the lifter being too sensitive. Every time the door to the office slammed shut it would cause the headset to beep as if the phone was ringing. You can have a look.
