Awesome performances John, your kid is awesome. Just Youtubed it.
Have the girls been hounding him yet?
Oiy vey...
"Charlie, Charlie!!" He's already wearing trooper sunglasses and still gets recognized in public.
I literally could not hear him due to crowd noise - watch tonight THURSDAY. He's very much himself...

@evildictaitor: Yes already. The tv is on waiting for the start. Don't give me a migraine.

He did good. Seemed like his brain was having to process a lot of new stuff and yet kept the priorities in order. Nice.

He told me they forgot to feed them *again* since early that morning. He blames low blood sugar on what he called a sub-par performance; shaking, etc... They cut about a minute of him working the crowd after his song - just as Randy Jackson looked down and started talking, Charlie turned his back and got the crowd engaged again to which the judge replied to his back "ok, soak it in...". Good grief, he told me that after tonight he doesn't care what the judges think since it's up for public votes from this point forward. He's on a mission, like Bilbo or something... What a fun man he has become, and he emulates Freddie Mercury's showmanship, as you can easily see.

@JohnAskew: Stage presence isn't something that's easily come by, and he's got it. A lot of the performers on these shows are obviously not sure what to do with their body in front of an audience, but he's a natural.
It's annoying to hear somebody like Randy ragging on the showmanship, but that's mostly because record exec types don't like performers who are better on stage. They prefer performers who's talent can be captured entirely in audio and distilled into an album blurb.
When the season ends, we need a C9 interview.

John, your boy is one cool cat. It's really wonderful that you have fostered and suppoprted his talent. Great job to you both!
We are cheering for him weekly in Boston.

Thanks, phreaks, Charlie performs next Tuesday, March 5th in Las Vegas and we VOTE to move him forward to the next show.

That's awesome! We need to get him on Channel 9 afterwards and give us the inside scoop

Laura, that'd be great. The network he's on is pretty tight fisted about media appearances, but an interview is definitely something that will make me happy. Thanks!
Oh, apparently they've changed the nights for the boys/girls performances again this week, so Charlie will be on Wednesday night, March 6, where we can VOTE to put him into the single-elimination money rounds.

I'm pretty sure Microsoft pays for advertising spots during the show. They might be able to pull a few string I would think.

Interesting song choice last night (and what's with the feather earring?
). Hopefully it doesn't hurt his popular vote. -
@spivonious: If this is to be believed at all, he is safe.

Looks like they're allowing International voting for Charlie vs. Audrey for a spot on the summer tour with American Idol.
That's a 100k summer job an 18 year old. Help a young musician singer out...
I just wish he'd been able to play his Stratocaster and wear his rainbow psychedelic bell-bottoms.
We're having loads of fun here, dodging TV bullets and such...
Cheers!

John, Charlie is truly unique and a great artist. Thank you for drawing my attention to this years' competition (wasn't going to watch), because I just became a fanbaby of this girl:
and i cried like a baby when I heard this:
