@cbae: Really? You have an LCD monitor and a separate TV tuner today? You'd be in a very small minority if that were true. Most of us own TVs with integrated tuners. Granted, cable providers foist a set top box on us anyway, maybe that's what you're considering to be a tuner? You actually prefer to have that? Really? Why? What benefit is there?
Well, to start with I'd want two tuners and a hard drive so I can watch one program while recording another (or record two and watch both later). And I already had an HDTV so It was nice to not have to buy a whole new TV when I upgraded my failing SD DVR to an HD DVR. And now they have this whole home thing where I can watch recorded programs on any receiver in the house (using the satellite coax as a network). If I had to replace all my TVs to do that I wouldn't have bothered, but $99 for 1 replacement box (the others were already compatible) and a service call later and we're all set up. And every TV has the same UI via DirecTV (recently updated too) instead of the various obtuse "Smart UI"s (even within the same brand) built in to our various TVs.
