Now, this is some reasons for upgrading to VS11 even though you can't target .NET 4.5.
You still need to use TaskEx stuff though, so its not source-code compatible with .NET 4.5.

You made it sound like VS11 doesn't allow you to target .NET 4.5.

If I am reading that correctly, you can use the await keyword in VS11, and target the 4.0 framework. I might have to bump another thread.
