That's more "giving away" than "selling", though. I guess it will encourage MS employees to eat their own dogfood though, which is always good.

Wonder when they'll be for sale in the store at the Redmond campus. Will get our guys to pick up a few of them when they're down there and the tablets are available.

The hardware/software section of the on campus Company store is FTE only. However there are two Microsoft stores in Bellevue/Seattle.

Will be checking out the Belle Vue store come BUILD time. Hope they have some left!

I'd buy a Surface too if it cost $0.00.

@blowdart: So, my birthday is coming up...you'll send me one right?

LOL counting giveaways as sales? Desperate times...

It'll be interesting to see how they use these Widows RT devices. If they where the Windows 8 Pro tablets most of them would probably just use them like regular ultrabooks but owning RT devices will make them have to think in a different way because they won't be able to just use the software they already have on their current PCs.
I wonder what kind of plan MS have to get all their employees using WP8 phones too? -

Geekwire's article is not based on information shared by Microsoft and the title of this post is misleading at best... But, go ahead and make up something else. Desperate times. Yeah. That's something you can work with!
I am really looking forward to the next 12-18 months when reality will speak for itself. All of this uninformed information is truly boring...

For the record, I was being facetious about the "sold" part.

C12-18 months? Zune? Kin? WP7? Microsoft's track record on devices isn't that great and PC sales are down. Let's be fair and say 36 - 48 months.
I can't wait to see how Ballmer counts his 600 million W8 sales... I'm sure they'll all be based on "reality".

@DeathByVisualStudio: I would think he would have to include all the $14.95 and $40 upgrades and hope that Apple does something really stupid. There is a staggering amount of greatness in the toaster-refrigerator that is Windows 8, along with a healthly dose of fail.
In the end, it's better for Microsoft that Microsoft kills Windows-- or at least the classic sense of it --than someone else.
