Unless you plan to write your own drivers for the underlying hardware (which could be different on different phones), I don't think you are going to gain much going that route.

In any way, even if there was some way to hack around the problem, that still shows that WP is lacking in support for realtime audio/MIDI. Work-arounds are risky because they might fail to work properly on new versions or on new hardware.
