Star Date?
-
This is from a iPhone back file extracted from the SMS data, it would appear that previously Apple used UNIX time, but in later versions of iOS changed to this format and I have no idea what it is..... -
Miliseconds since the birth of Steve Jobs?
-
Send one SMS message now, and another in exactly one minute's time. Look at the difference between the two numbers, and that will tell you what resolution the times are (i.e. whether it's counting seconds, milliseconds or something else entirely).
Then, extrapolate backwards to find the base time.
-
Putting it excel and working from 2001, appears to resolve the correct time/date..... why 2001?
=(((C16883/60)/60)/24)+DATE(2001,1,1)+(1/24)

That's the release year of IOS in the first generation iPod.

It might have something to do with Y2K functionality...

Y2K functionality is my favorite type of functionality. Hmmm, that's kinda catchy. How do I change my profile? What's that, Silly Thursday is next week?
